My little studio is in central
Edinburgh where I create bright & contemporary pottery using a combination of hand building and wheel throwing. Each ceramic piece is is created by me from start to finish. The special thing about handmade pottery is that no two pieces are exactly alike, with the imperfections making them unique.
My colour palette started with cobalt blue and white which I have always been drawn to in pottery, the use of cobalt blue dates back to the 8th century and has been used in many different styles of functional and decorative ceramics. I have been working with cobalt in different ways some precise hand painted styles and some more abstract. Shades of green & turquoise have been included recently. Continuing to experiment & build on Ideas and newly learned techniques.
